Let's talk about WPC board-1

With the emergence of technology, customers are becoming smarter. They no longer settle for the usual materials in designing their homes and workplaces. People are striving to research what's best for them. One of the best things is wood-plastic composite (WPC) boards.

Wood-plastic composites (WPC) are composite materials made of wood fiber/wood flour and thermoplastic(s) (such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), or PLA).

In addition to wood fiber and plastic, WPCs can also contain other lignocellulosic and/or inorganic filler materials. 

WPC is a subset of a larger category of materials called natural fiber plastic composites (NFPCs), which may contain no cellulose-based fiber fillers such as pulp fibers, peanut hulls, coffee hulls, bamboo, straw, digestate, etc.

After knowing what wood-plastic composite boards mean, let's move on to their types, uses and applications.

What are WPC boards made of?

WPC boards contain 70% primary polymer, 15% wood powder and 15% additives chemicals.

The thicknesses of WPC boards are 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 17mm, 18mm, 20mm and 25mm. The density is 600kg/m3.

How are WPC boards made?

WPC boards are made by mixing the primary polymer, wood powder and additives chemicals in a certain ratio. The mixture is then extruded and molded into the desired shape and size.
