What is ASA (Acrylonitrile styrene acrylate)?
Acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), also called acrylic styrene acrylonitrile, is an amorphous thermoplastic developed as an alternative to acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), that has improved weather resistance.
It is an acrylate rubber-modified styrene acrylonitrile copolymer, and can be used for general prototyping in 3D printing, where its UV resistance and mechanical properties make it an excellent material for use in fused filament fabrication printers, particularly for outdoor applications.
ASA is also widely used in the automotive industry.
ASA is compatible with some other plastics, namely polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polycarbonate (PC). ASA-PVC compounds are widely used.
ASA can be processed by extrusion and co-extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding, extrusion blow molding, and structural foam molding.
ASA is mildly hygroscopic; drying may be necessary before processing.
ASA resin is modifed by the high rubber content powder, and can commonly be used for outdoor and automotive applications due to its strong weather resistance, color fade resistance, UV resistance and mechanical properties.

Novista provide both ASA high rubber content raw material powder and, ASA resin, which is modifed by rubber powder with additives, light stabilizer, ultraviolet absorber, dispersing agent, lubricants, enhancer, modified nucleating agents, coupling agents, and high quality colored pigment.
We make the ASA resin into granules to make them easier to process and use, and to improve the quality and performance of your finished plastic products.
